2012 04 21 CBS no 3 - Shazalakazoo - Serbia
Saturday the 21st of April it's time for the big season finale of Club Balkan Superstars at Södra Teatern's Kägelbanan in Stockholm. This time we're going for 100% groove and dance with Shazalakazoo from Belgrade and a new sound to our own music.
For more than ten years Shazalakazoo has presented their Folkstep, a mix of all kinds of styles from the Balkans, electronic dance music and rhytms from around the world. The duo has toured the world and some think they're the best live act around.
This night Süperstar Orkestar also will try some ideas we've had for a long time. Erik Nilsson will bring his drum kit and lay down some heavy beats and Jonas Jersild join in on the electric bass to add power to the bass section. Power, humour and groove. Crazy trubaci! Don't miss it we'll probably only do it this once.
This spring has been great for us with bookings we've dreamt of, fantastic conserts and very good audiences. The last consert with Orkestar Sinisa Stankovic was even better than we'd expected and we look very much forward to the next Club on april 21st. The club will certainly appear again. Guca 2012 Serbia
Göran has arranged travels to the Guca festival for some years and he is wondering if somebody wants to go this year. The festival is on the 8th-12th of August. Send us an e-mail if you want to go or if you have any questions.
2012 03 03 CBS no 2 - Orkestar Sinisa Stankovic
The Club Balkan Superstars is proud and happy to present Orkestar Sinisa Stankovic, an eleven piece Roma brass band from Serbia!
The band is flown in for one exclusive gig - their first in Sweden!They are going to deliver a groovy, powerful music that you don´t hear often. Real Trubaci!
Süperstar Orkestar is also playing so it's going to be a mini-Guca Festival.
Sininsa Sankovic - Extra Bomba!
Sinisa Stankovic is from the small Roma village of Zagužanje outside of Surdulica in southern Serbia, a Mecka for all lovers of trubaci (brass band Music). The village, with not more than 500 inhabitants, has twelve professional brass bands and almost everyone in the village knows how to play a brass instrument. The band has played around Europe and now we present them for the first time in Sweden.
Stankovic is of the sixth generation of trumpet players in his family. At an early age he toured with Esma Redzepova "the Queen of Gipsy music" and her band. In 1992 he started his own orchestra around him and his brothers Zarko and Mirolav, brilliant trumpet players as well.
Trough years of hard work the band has made a name for itself as one of the best in serbia and they have won prizes in Guca, Surdulica and Banjaluka.
The band is well own outside of Serbia and they have performed in France, Belgium, Germany, Argentina, Canada, Greece… They have been heard in different places from big festival scenes to taverns. They've always been true to their unique style.
Success with Ferus Mustafov
Our tour with King Ferus Mustafov was a great success. Playing with this master was a real kick to the band. We got new tunes to our repertoire and a lot of inspiration. We are nominated as the group of the year at The Folk and World Music Gala 2012
Süperstar Orkestar are nominated among other groups as the group of the year at Swedens Folk and World Music Galai in Malmö.
2012 01 19 Club Balkan Superstars - Ferus Mustafov
In 2012 Süperstar Orkestar celebrates 15 years as a band! We do this by starting our own club at Södra Teatern's Kägelbanan in Stockholm. There we will present some of our favourites from the Balkans. The club is called "Club Balkan Superstars". Join us this spring!
The first night, in the end february, will be the the first consert on a small tour that we do with the legendary King Ferus Mustafov as guest soloist. In March we present a brass band, Orkestar Sinisa Stankovic from Serbia. The band has never before played in Sweden!
King Ferus Mustafov is a multi instrumentalist who's main instruments are clarinet and saxophone. He is the greatest and most famous of all Macedonia's Roma master musicians and his virtuosity and passionate music leaves nobody untouched. Ferus is a featured soloist on our record "Balkanized" which was released in 2008.
We play three conserts with King Ferus:
Friday the 24th of February at Södra Teatern's Kägelbanan in Stockholm,
Saturday the 25th of February at Moriska Palatset in Malmö,
Suday the 26th of February at Eskilstuna Teater in Eskilstuna.
This is an excellent opportunity to hear this fantastic musician with us. It's going to be memorable and inspireing conserts for the band as well as for the audience.

Family concerts at Musik- & Teatermuseet!
Saturday the 20th of November we play two family concerts at Musik- och Teatermuseet.
Two shows at 13.00 and 15.00. Check out our family concert that has been a success on our tours around Sweden. When you pay for the concert, 75 sek, the entrance to the museum is included. The address is Sibyllegatan 2, next to the Dramatic Theatre

BALKAN BEAT PARTY - EARTH HOUR Saturday the 26th of March 20: 30 – 21:30 is Earth Hour – the biggest manifestation for the environment of all times. At Kägelbanan Süperstar Orkestar does a special gig during the hour. Then the party goes on all night long with Musikkollektivet, a whole set of new tunes from Süperstar Orkestar and Djs.

Saturday the 16th of October is the day of this autumn's biggest Balkan event, Balkan Beat Cruise. Süperstar Orkestar will be playing on the boat all the time along with KAL och DJ Shone from Serbia.

On the 23rd and 24th of July we played at International Gypsy Fest in Trebisov, Slovakia with groups from Brasil, Argentina, Poland, Slovakia and other countries. We were the only non Roma band on the festival, a great honour. Saturday's concert was before Esma Redzepova and her band.
Thursday the 5th of August Urkultståget, Balkan Beat Train, goes from Stockholm all the way to Urkultfestivalen. We will be onboard playing during the journey. Friday the 6th of August, we play on Urkult festival. Look out for guerilla-gigs!
Friday the 13th of August Stockholms Kulturfestival. On Gustav Adolfs square appears Gypsy Queens and Kings. Some of the most well known Roma singers sings with accompaniment from Mahala Rai Banda of Rumania. We will perform from the back of a truck all over town before the concert.
Friday the 27th we play at Balkanfest Evanger in Norway. It is going to be a real Guca festival in Norway.
The 29th of August we start our tour of Småland. Vi play in Värnamo, Vetlanda, Huskvarna, Tranås, Sävsjö, Gislaved, Eksjö och Mullsjö. The tour is arranged by Smålands musik och teater.
Right now you can see us in three commercials from Svenska Spel för for the game BingoLive. The clips are on You Tube and they're called Bonden, Stekaren and Bloggerskorna. Mad, surreal, clips that are worth spending a couple of minutes.

The concerts of this autumn start off with a workshop for young people in Sörmland. They will learn ten tunes that they will present together with us during three days of concerts in april next year.
Saturday the 14th of November we play a concert at Bildningscentrum i Bålsta.
November is concluded by six school concerts in Eskilstuna, Nyköping and Mariefred plus a workshop for high school pupils in Eskilstuna. Scenkonst Sörmland is arranging.
Thursday the 3rd of December we play a concert at the University of Mälardalen in Eskilstuna at 20.00.

BALKAN BEAT PARTY - STOCKHOLM - Fasching
The Balkan music happening of the year!
We´re proud to present the second Balkan Beat Party in the history of Stockholm. This is an internationally well known club, this time with the Norwegian DJ Prinsen Paulista. Süperstar Orkestar will be playing music from Macedonia, Serbia and Bulgaria. This will be a night of pure Balkan Hysteria!
Our trip to the Guca festival in Serbia was fantastic. We made ten concerts of which six were televised, two on the stadium for an audience of 30 000 people.
Music, concerts, trubaci, lots of people, party, culture, international bands, competitions, beauty contests, kolo, kupus and slivovica.

WE'RE GOING TO THE GUCA FESTIVAL IN SERBIA.
The 5th-10th of August we participate in Sabor Trubaca, the GUCA FESTIVAL in Serbia.
The Stadium Friday the 7th of August at 22.30.
Parade on Saturday at 17.00.
300 000 people are expected to come to this year’s festival.

THIS SUMMERS FESTIVALS – THE GUCA FESTIVAL IN SERBIA
The summer of 2009 will be filled with Balkan brass band music from Süperstar Orkestar.
We'll be warming up in Sweden with the final of CLUB SKANDAL.
This summer we play first at ÅLANDS SJÖDAGAR the 16th of July, then straight to URKULTFESTIVALEN in Näsåker on the 30th of july.
The 5th -10th of August we leave for the GUCA FESTIVAL in Serbia.
